Coming off a gold medal victory at the 2012 Olympics, the United States Women's National Soccer Team will play against China on Dec. 8 at Ford Field in Detroit. These two teams have already met once this season, when the USA played to a 4-1 win over China on May 27, at PPL Park in Chester, Pa.
The eighth game of a 10-part Fan Tribute Tour, it will be the second time that USWNT has played at Ford Field. The last time, also against China, was a 1-0 victory in December 2008 as part of that team's post-Olympic tour.
The only other match that USWNT has ever played in Michigan was at the Pontiac Silverdome in 1993 in anticipation of the 1994 World Cup.
So far during the Fan Tribute Tour, the Americans have posted a 3-0-2 record. They' managed to blow out Costa Rica 8-0, and had little trouble with the Australians in two separate matches, but they've also tied Germany twice.
