Each team tallied a field goal in the third quarter as the Detroit Lions head to the third down two scores, 24-10.
The Lions came out of halftime with no answer for their second quarter collapse, and they promptly punted after a 3-and-out. The Arizona Cardinals marched 30 yards on eight plays on the following possession, but stalled on Detroit's 33-yard line. Jay Feeley converted the resulting 51-yard field goal to extend the lead to 17 points.
Detroit mounted a drive of their own after regaining possession. Matthew Stafford and co. drove 55 yards in 11 plays, but like Arizona, stalled just outside the redzone and were forced to settle for a field goal. Jason Hanson's 41-yard field goal was good, and the deficit was cut to 24-10.
The quarter ended with the Lions facing a third down on their own nine yard line. Matthew Stafford has a total of 136 passing yards.
