Detroit Lions kicker Jason Hanson continues to rack up the NFL records in his two decade-plus career. The latest record came when he kicked a 41-yard field goal in the third quarter, tying Morten Anderson's all time record for most field goals from 40 yards or farther with 187 in his career.
The field goal drew the Lions within two touchdowns, 24-10, before they went on to lose to the Arizona Cardinals 38-10, snapping a nine-game losing streak for Arizona.
The former second-round draft pick out of Washington State is third all time in both points scored and field goals made in league history. Anderson currently holds the records in both of those categories. Hanson has been named a Pro Bowler three times in his career and an All-Pro twice.
Hanson will get two more opportunities this season to pass Anderson altogether when the Lions close out the season at home against the Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears.
