The Detroit Lions, at best, can finish the season 6-10, which is a far cry from where expectations placed them this offseason. They're at 4-10 with two games to go, and they're well out of playoff contention. Matthew Stafford and the offense as a whole suffered a regression, and the defense never had a chance with the injuries and other issues in the secondary.
Joel Thorman of SB Nation released his Week 16 power rankings, and the Lions are above only a handful of teams.
27. Detroit Lions (LW: 26, 4-10): According to this terrific research at Pride of Detroit, Jim Schwartz might want to start collecting his things.
That's down one spot from last week after suffering another loss. They're above only the Oakland Raiders, Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Cardinals are the team that actually blew the Lions out in Week 15, but they've generally looked worse this season, regardless.
Detroit comes in below teams like the San Diego Chargers and the New York Jets, and that in itself should be a testament to how far this team has fallen of late.
