Little Caesars Pizza Bowl 2012: TV schedule, radio, location, history and more

Central Michigan and Western Kentucky will meet in the 2012 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl on Wednesday. Here is how to watch it.

Mike Carter-US PRESSWIRE

The Central Michigan Chippewas are slated to meet the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich., for the 2012 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.

The Little Caesars Pizza Bowl typically features a matchup between teams from the MAC and the Big Ten; however, if the Big Ten cannot send an eligible team to the bowl, as is the case this year, a team from the Sun Belt Conference will take their place.

Central Michigan (6-6, 4-4) began its 2012 campaign with disappointment, losing five of their first seven games. However, the Chippewas finished strong with three consecutive wins to close out the season and claim bowl eligibility at 6-6. Junior running back Zurlon Tipton has been the focal point of the Central Michigan offense. Tipton has rushed for 1,391 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, along with 258 receiving yards and one touchdown as well.

Western Kentucky (7-5, 4-4), unlike Central Michigan, limped into the postseason with four losses in its final six games. However, excluding a 35-point drubbing at the hands of Alabama, the Hilltoppers have been close in every defeat, losing by an average of less than five points. Antonio Andrews leads the Western Kentucky offense, which ranks 41st in the nation in rushing. Andrews has run for 1,609 yards and 11 touchdowns this season.
