In their quest to tie the NHL record for consecutive home victories in a single season the Detroit Red Wings have gotten an early goal, but a mistake allowed the Philadelphia Flyers to tie things up 1-1 after one periods of play. Joey McDonald misplayed a puck behind the net leading to a Brayden Schenn goal with just under four minutes to play in the period.
That goal tied things at 1-1, but Detroit led for most of the period thanks to an early goal from Niklas Kronwall. The goal was the 12th on the season from Kronwall, and came on the power play thanks to a penalty on Schenn for tripping. Henrik Zetterberg and Todd Bertuzzi each had an assist on the goal from Kronwall.
