March Madness Schedule 2012: NCAA Tournament Begins With First Four On Tuesday

Although the round of 64 doesn't begin until Thursday, the official start of the 2012 NCAA tournament is Tuesday night in Dayton, Ohio. The first half of the First Four will be held on Tuesday, with the other two games being played on Wednesday. Technically, the First Four games are not considered play-in games, so the first round of the tournament officially begins on Tuesday night.

Here's a look at the two games on the schedule for Tuesday:

Game 1: No. 16 Mississippi Valley State vs. No. 16 Western Kentucky

Game date/time: Tuesday, March 13, 6:40 p.m. ET

Location: University of Dayton Arena, Dayton, OH

TV: truTV

Announcers: Jim Nantz, Clark Kellogg and Steve Kerr (Tracy Wolfson on the sideline)

Game 2: No. 14 BYU vs. No. 14 Iona

Game date/time: Tuesday, March 13, 9:10 p.m. ET

Location: University of Dayton Arena, Dayton, OH

TV: truTV

Announcers: Jim Nantz, Clark Kellogg and Steve Kerr (Tracy Wolfson on the sideline)
