NCAA Women's Bracket 2012 Update: Michigan State Falls To Louisville

Like Eastern Michigan, Michigan State was eliminated in the first round of the 2012 NCAA women's basketball tournament in a game that was never really close. Actually, Michigan State trailed by the exact same score to Louisville after one half as Eastern Michigan did against South Carolina. The Spartans were down 39-23, and although they played better in the second half, the Cardinals won 67-55.

Louisville had four players score in double digits on Saturday. Shawnta' Dyer actually came off the bench to lead all scorers with 13 points. Becky Burke and Bria Smith each had 12 points, and Asia Taylor added 10 points of her own off the bench.

Michigan State's starting lineup amazingly only produced 18 points on Saturday. The Spartans' leading scorers were Klarissa Bell (12 points), Jasmine Hines (eight points) and Porschè Poole (eight points), all of whom came off the bench.

Louisville is now moving on to the second round to take on Maryland. The Terrapins beat Navy 59-44 to set up the second-round matchup.
