2012 Frozen Four: Ferris State Loses To Boston College In Championship 4-1

Ferris State's improbable Cinderella story has finally come to an end, as the Boston College Eagles reigned supreme 4-1 in Saturday's Frozen Four title game down in Tampa Bay. A fixture atop the college hockey world, the Eagles, an obvious juggernaut entering the tournament, will once again reign supreme as NCAA champions.

Counted out with regularity by analysts throughout the tournament, Ferris State's path to the title game will still go down as one of the most incredible underdog stories in college hockey history, regardless of how unfortunate this ending may appear. Garrett Thompson scored the lone goal for Ferris State on the evening, with assists going to Andy Huff and Travis Ouellette.

Boston College closed the season on a 19 game winning streak, with its last defeat coming all the way back on January 21st. The Eagles scored a pair of goals in the opening period, and buried an empty-netter in the waning seconds to dash Ferris State's hopes once and for all.
