There is no "super horse" in this year's field, but instead there are several horses that might win the first leg of this year's triple crown. Leading that pack are the two favorites, Bodemeister and Union Rags, both of which have become popular picks among experts.
While Bodemeister currently has the best odds of any horse, he doesn't have as much experience racing as a typical contender.
Bodemeister turned in the most dominating performance of any Derby prospect with a 9 1-2-length victory in the Arkansas Derby. He's never been worse than second in his four career starts, all this year. He didn't race as a 2-year-old and no colt since Apollo in 1882 has won the Kentucky Derby without running at 2.
Meanwhile, Union Rags has raced just twice in his career.
