The Michigan State Spartans' Draymond Green took home some hardware at the fifth annual BTN Awards on Monday night.
The senior, who is currently preparing for the upcoming NBA Draft on June 28, took home the Big Ten Jesse Owens Male Athlete Of The Year award, via Graham Couch of mlive.com.
"It's a great honor to be mentioned in the same sentence as Jesse Owens, one of the greatest athletes of all-time," Green said in a statement. "The Big Ten is one of the most well-rounded conferences in the country, with great players and great teams across all the different sports competing for championships. To be the one male athlete selected out of that group is quite an accomplishment, but one that I didn't reach alone."
Green is the fifth basketball player to win the award, with Ohio State's Evan Turner most recently winning it 2010.
