Only a few hours after Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams both advanced to the second round of the 2012 Wimbledon Championship in straight sets, Andy Murray and Victoria Azarenka accomplished the same feat, coasting past their opponents in a similar fashion later on Tuesday.
Murray defeated Nikolay Davydenko, 6-1, 6-1, 6-4, at Centre Court. Murray broke Davydenko six times over the course of the match, including three times in the first set alone.
Azarenka eliminated Irina Falconi, 6-1, 6-4, on Court No. 1. Azarenka was sloppy at times, most notably with her serves, as she committed nine double faults over the course of the match. However, Azarenka made up for it by breaking Falconi six times in nine chances and scoring on 59 percent of the serves she received.
