2012 British Open Leaderboard Update: Adam Scott At Top; Local Player Justin Hicks Getting Started

Many players have wrapped up their first round at the 2012 British Open Championships. Adam Scott currently holds the first-place spot at 6-under for the day, while Zach Johnson and Paul Lawrie hold a tie for second place at 5-under. Nicolas Colsaerts has a chance to take the top spot, as through 12 holes he's 4-under with a ways to go, as is Toshinori Muto, rounding out the top five.

Other big names in the top are Bubba Watson and Tiger Woods, who finished tied for sixth after round one at 3-under. Ernie Els, Graeme McDowell and Keegan Bradley share that tie for sixth.

Justin Hicks, a local product who was a star with the Michigan Wolverines, is all the way down tied for 38th place and is even, but he's only played through four holes thus far and can certainly improve his standing before the round is over. This is Hicks' first appearance at the British Open and, on top of that, his first time playing in Europe in general.
