Olympics 2012: Nearly 30 Athletes With Michigan Ties Headed To London

The 2012 Summer Olympics are almost here. The opening ceremony for the 2012 Olympics is one week away, and soon all eyes will be focused on London as the Summer Games officially begin.

Quite a few of the athletes headed to London for the 2012 Olympics have ties to the state of Michigan. In all, there are 29 athletes set to take part in the Olympics who are either from the state of Michigan or attended college in Michigan. Most notably, athletes like Michael Phelps (University of Michigan), Tyler Clary (University of Michigan), Jordyn Wieber (DeWitt) and Sam Mikulak (University of Michigan) are set to represent the state in the Olympics.
