Tiffany Porter, former University of Michigan track star and native of Ypsilanti, MI, had an injury scare less than two weeks ago at the Crystal Palace Grand Prix. Porter was in tears as a back problem flared up halfway through her 100 meter hurdles heat.
Afterward, though, Porter declared she would be ready to compete in London.
Thanks to everyone who checked on me yesterday. Rest assured this half of #teamPorter will be ready for the Games!

Porter, who has had dual citizenship since birth thanks to her British mother, has been training since the scare in order to represent Great Britain.
The other half of Team Porter? That's her husband, Jeff Porter, who will be competing on the United States track and field team. The two hurdlers met at U-M and live in in Canton, MI.
Porter's former U-M roommate, Geena Gall, will also be in London, representing the United States in the 800-meter run.
