Northern Ireland native son Rory McIlroy crushed the competition Sunday by finishing his PGA Championship 13 under par, eight strokes ahead of second place finisher David Lynn. Fifth place finisher Ian Poulter seemed to pose the biggest threat to McIlroy as he charged out of the gate with birdies on six of the first seven holes. Poulter, however, could not continue his torrid pace, finishing the day only four under par and nine shots off the lead.

Tiger Woods finished his tournament just outside the top ten at two under par. Although catching McIlroy was a virtual impossibility, a final round of 72 was still a disappointing finish for the 14-time major champion.

Detroit native Brian Cairns did not make the weekend after posting scores of 75 and 83, eight shots off the cut line.

The rest of the top ten is the following:

First place: Rory McIlroy -13
Second place: David Lynn -5
Tie for third: Carl Pettersson -4
Tie for third: Justin Rose -4
Tie for third: Keegan Bradley -4
Tie for third: Ian Poulter -4
Tie for seventh: Blake Adams -3
Tie for seventh: Jamie Donaldson -3
Tie for seventh: Peter Hanson -3
Tie for seventh: Steve Stricker -3
