Bracketology In August? Why Not?

Bracketology is a decent indicator of what to expect out of the NCAA basketball tournament field when you're a few weeks away from the Big Dance. When you're still a couple months away from the start of practice for the next season, it's truly a pointless exercise in terms of predicting the future.

That said, it is entertaining to take a very early look at what the field could look like come March. That's why ESPN's Joe Lunardi put together a new edition of bracketology on Monday.

In his latest bracketology, Lunardi has both Michigan and Michigan State listed as No. 2 seeds. Also, he has both teams set to play their opening-round games at The Palace of Auburn Hills, which is one of the host sites for the second and third round in 2013. The two teams wouldn't play each other since they would be in different regions, but that would still be quite the start to the 2013 NCAA tournament.
