Michigan's Denard Robinson Thinks He Can Beat Usain Bolt In 40-Yard Dash

Jamaican track star Usain Bolt might just be the fastest man on the planet, but Michigan football quarterback Denard Robinson isn't entirely convinced the Olympic star would be able to take him in a 40-yard dash. Seriously. Go Denard:

"I've watched him run, and I'm pretty sure I can beat him in a 40-yard dash," Robinson said to FOX Sports Detroit's Dave Hogg at the team's official media day. "I'd get a better start, and I could take him."

Filling his role perfectly with a timely backup of his quarterback, teammate Devin Gardner also agreed with Robinson's assessment that Bolt would end up getting left in the dust in a football-themed race. "Denard could do that in a heartbeat – he's the fastest man in the world," Gardner boasted. "When it comes to football speed at 40 yards, I'd take Denard. He's that fast."

While a number of football players have recently come forward with claims they could take the freak of nature that is Bolt in a race, albeit only under football conditions it seems, Denard is one of few who may actually be able to back up his words. But until then, we'll have to see it to believe it.
