An avid fan of all types of racing sports, local recording artist Kid Rock has been bestowed with the honor of Grand Marshal for the Pure Michigan 400, the final NASCAR event of the season to be held on August 18th at the Michigan International Speedway:

The multi-platinum selling rocker actually served as Grand Marshal at MIS two years ago for the LifeLock 400, and track officials are thrilled to have him back for another year. "He has been a great ambassador for the state of Michigan and it is exciting to have him start the race at the fastest track in NASCAR," MIS president Roger Curtis said in a press release on Thursday.
↵After taking a spin around Bell Isle with IndyCar driver Helio Castroneves back in May, Kid Rock will once again appease local NASCAR fans with his presence at MIS, furthering his role as one of the best motor sports ambassadors right now in the state.
