Home field advantage. Every team besides two had "it" last weekend, Manetti. The two home teams that lost must have felt like such loo-hoo-ze-hers. But despite the home teams dominating Week 2 and having a distinct advantage each week, don't let that fool you -- winners always win.
Except the Patriots; they can't be trusted.
Bengals (+3.5) over REDSKINS
Catching on with the theme? A lot of home teams are going down this week, favored or not. The Redskins are "bouncing back" from making Sam Bradford look great and losing a couple key players for the season. No biggie. I know it's their home opener, but I'm thinking all of that and Andy Dalton to AJ Green is too much.
Jets (-3) over DOLPHINS
The Jets will test Tannehill's poise, but everyone knows that it's Mark Sanchez with all the poise.
SAINTS (-7.5) over Chiefs
The Saints are 0-2 and allegedly willing to pay their players for wins -- big ones.
VIKINGS (+7) over 49ers
Adrian Peterson provided bulletin board material by saying the 49ers haven't faced a running game quite like the Vikings', but I do think the Vikings will cover.
COLTS (-3) over Jaguars
This will be the week Luck passes RGIII on the Rookie QB power rankings.
CHARGERS (-3) over Falcons
The Chargers start 3-0 and the Atlanta media talks about how Michael Turner's midweek DUI was a distraction.
Steelers (-3.5) over RAIDERS
With the way the Raiders played against the Dolphins last week, I give them about a 0.0000003% chance of covering this week.
Texans (-2) over BRONCOS
This is my weekly pick I feel like will be wrong, but I don't want to switch it because I have the preposterous belief that my picks (and luck) actually affects the outcome of these games.
Bills (-3) over BROWNS
CJ THRILLER!
COWBOYS (-7) over Buccaneers
2012 Jerry World Opener, so despite last week's old man turd dropped in Seattle, the Cowboys turn it on for the home fans, while the Bucs try to recover from demoralization.
Patriots (+3) over RAVENS
Nobody bounces back quite like Bill Belichick and the Patriots, except when they're playing the Giants in the Super Bowl.
Packers (-3) over SEAHAWKS
I can't fathom the Packers losing more games this year by Week 3 than they did in all of last season. Can't do it. Won't do it.
Teaser Picks (+14)
PANTHERS (+15.5) over Giants
As if I need to prove that I missed horribly on this one, but yeah, I thought the Panthers might "steal" one or at least keep it competitive with the Giants missing a handful of starters. I locked in on this pick while the Panthers were still 'dogs and started to worry when all the sheeple started picking Carolina.
Rams (+21) over BEARS
Sam Bradford finally looked like a No. 1 draft pick last week and Jeff Fisher's mustache is as impeccable as ever. I don't know if the Rams win, but I think they keep it competitive. Competing is half the battle.
Lions (+10.5) over TITANS
The Lions are 0-2 against the spread and the Titans have been blown out two weeks in a row. Chris Johnson is averaging 1.1 yards per carry, which is almost fewer yards per carry than Stafford interceptions per quarter in the first half. Both bad stats. One team wins. Lions. Covering. Hopefully.
CARDINALS (+18) over Eagles
The Cardinals might be the early-season surprise story, even though they've won nine of their last 11 games.
Last week: 11-4-1
Season: 20-11-1
