A field of 70 golfers will tee off at Crooked Stick Golf Club on Thursday at the BMW Championship, the third leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. The day's premiere threesome tees off at 12:48 p.m. ET, when Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Nick Watney take the course. McIlroy, the world's No. 1 player, is coming off a one-shot win in last week's Deutsche Bank Championship. Woods, who finished third last week after a strong comeback Monday, sits third in FedEx Cup points.
Phil Mickelson, Jason Dufner, and Zach Johnson tee off immediately before the McIlroy-Woods-Watney group at 12:37 p.m. ET. British Open champion Ernie Els is set to begin his opening round at 1:54 p.m. on the back nine, along with Steve Stricker and world No. 2 Luke Donald. Brandt Snedeker and Louis Oosthuizen, ranked fourth and fifth in FedEx Cup points, also start their rounds at 1:54 p.m., on the front nine.
Tom Gillis, a native of Pontiac, Mich., plays at 1:21 p.m. with 2010 U.S. Open champ Graeme McDowell and Jeff Overton.
Television coverage begins on Golf Channel at 3:00 p.m. ET, and will be replayed in prime time.
