The Detroit Pistons made one trade in 2012-13, landing Jose Calderon from the Toronto Raptors, but they didn't make any more deals at Thursday's NBA trade deadline, which passed at 2 p.m.
The only bit of activity before the deadline came when ESPN reporter Chris Broussard listed the Pistons as a potential destination for Orlando Magic guard J.J. Redick, but as Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press writes, that rumor was quickly shot down.
The Milwaukee Bucks, a rival of Detroit's in the Central Division, won the Redick sweepstakes. The Pistons trail the Bucks by 5.5 games for the East's final playoff spot and would also need to leapfrog the Philadelphia 76ers in order to catch them, so a postseason run isn't likely.
But as Ellis writes, the Pistons' decision not to make any moves maintains their salary-cap flexibility: "The Pistons also are expected to be $25 million under the salary cap heading into the off-season and hope to be players on the trade market this summer."
