2013 NCAA Tournament bracket: Michigan State earns a No. 3 seed, Michigan a No. 4

Both BCS schools in Michigan received high seeds in the 2013 NCAA tournament.

The Michigan State Spartans and the Michigan Wolverines both had quality seasons, and the NCAA rewarded both teams with a top-four seed in the NCAA tournament.

The Spartans are the No. 3 seed in the Midwest bracket. They will take on the No. 14 Valparaiso Crusaders at The Palace of Auburn Hills. That game will take place Thursday with tip-off at 12:15 p.m. ET. The winner of that game will face either the No. 6 Memphis Tigers or the winner of the first-round game between the St. Mary's Gaels and the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders for the No. 11 seed.

The Wolverines earned the No. 4 seed in the South region. They will also open the tournament in The Palace, against No. 13 South Dakota St. Jackrabbits. That game will start at 7:15 p.m. ET on Thursday. The winner of that matchup will meet the No. 5 Va. Commonwealth Rams or the No. 12 Akron Zips in the third round of the tournament.
