Lions Blow Out Rams For 44-6 Victory

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Shaun Hill threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns and Stefan Logan tied a franchise record with a 105-yard kickoff return for a score as the Detroit Lions snapped a 10-game losing streak with a 44-6 demolishing of the St. Louis Rams at Ford Field.

Hill completed 21-of-32 throws, while Calvin Johnson, Brandon Pettigrew and Nate Burleson each had a TD grab for the Lions (1-4), who won for the first time since defeating Cleveland, 38-37, on November 22 of last year. The Lions suffered a 28-26 setback at Green Bay last weekend. Logan's return equaled that of Terry Fair for the longest in Lions' history. Fair set the mark in 1998 against Tampa Bay. Alphonso Smith added a 42-yard interception return for a score.

Rookie running back Jahvid Best, getting the start despite being slowed by a toe injury in practice all week, rushed for 67 yards on 18 carries in the victory. Johnson ended with four catches for 54 yards, but landed awkwardly on his right shoulder while making a diving reception for a 29-yard gain early in the fourth quarter and did not return. He was seen on the sideline with his shoulder wrapped.
