Packers' Jermichael Finley Targets Lions' Louis Delmas

Remember when the LionsLouis Delmas laid out the PackersJermichael Finley last November at Ford Field? Finley reached high for an Aaron Rodgers pass over his head, and Delmas came in late to blow him up. The Lions’ safety was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct on the play and later fined $7,500 by the NFL.

(Here’s a clip to refresh your memory.)

If you don’t remember the play, Finley sure does. And he’s been waiting to face Delmas again ever since.

From the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:

“That the ball was already over my head and dang near hitting the ground,” Finley said. "A play like that, that can injure somebody or hurt a career. That’s not a good thing for me.

“The taunting thing, that’s not cool at all. We’ll be going after him, without a doubt.”

Delmas, however, seems to think Finley is just talking big. As quoted by the Detroit News’ Chris McCosky on Twitter:

“I’m sure he doesn’t mean nothing by it. That was a year ago, this is a new year.”

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. I mean, Finley did make a point of mentioning the play. He obviously hasn’t forgotten, and was pretty clear about anticipating this rematch. But Delmas doesn’t seem too worried about it.
