Kid Rock To Perform At Halftime Of Lions' Thanksgiving Day Game

The halftime entertainment of the Thanksgiving Day game between the Detroit Lions and New England Patriots will have a hometown feel for the fans at Ford Field. Kid Rock will perform the title track from his new album, "Born Free."

(Maybe you heard that song once or 100 times during the baseball playoffs on TBS last month? The album will be released on Tuesday.)

The Thanksgiving Day performance is just the beginning of a number of events Kid Rock has planned after the new year, to coincide with his birthday on January 17.

First is a concert at Ford Field. Kid Rock would like the show to be on January 15, but a monster truck rally is already scheduled at the stadium that day. That doesn't seem to concern the rocker, however.

"If we want a date there, whatever's scheduled is not going to happen," Rock said.

A Comedy Central roast might also be part of Kid Rock's birthday festivities. That event would be held at the Fox Theater on January 17, though an official announcement has yet to be made.
