No waiting for deadlines or hoping for extensions from the NFL for the Detroit Lions' traditional Thanksgiving Day game this year. The nationally televised match-up against the New England Patriots sold out on Thursday, meaning metro Detroit fans will be able to watch it on local television.
↵Hey, if everyone else around the country has to watch the Lions before they eat, Detroit should have to also.
↵This will be the earliest the Lions have sold out a game in advance since 2007, when the Thanksgiving Day game against the Green Bay Packers was a sellout.
↵Four of the Lions' five home games this season have sold out and been televised locally. The exception was the Week 8 game versus the Washington Redskins on October 31.
