Shaun Hill's broken left forearm has no doubt been a target for teams since he returned to action a couple weeks ago. The New England Patriots might have taken it a little far.
↵Hill said the Patriots tried to re-break his arm during a second quarter sneak play in the Lions 45-24 loss on Thanksgiving.
↵↵↵"That's why I eventually gave up the ball," Hill said, according to Mlive.com. "Somebody was down there [in the pile] literally trying to break my arm, which is already broken. Literally, trying. And, uh, y'know, I guess [it] wasn't seen [by officials]."
↵
Trying to knock someone into next week on a big hit is one thing, but trying to break someone's arm is just downright dirty. On top of that, Hill's arm was already broken and he's just trying to gut out the rest of the season with Matthew Stafford injured. That should earn him some kind of respect from the other players.
↵Maybe Hill got confused with what was happening with all those bodies piled in there, but if his assertion is true then there should be some kind of investigation and punishment.
