Lions Trail Buccaneers At Halftime, 14-10

The Detroit Lions took an early 7-0 lead over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. Drew Stanton hit Nate Burleson for a 10-yard touchdown late in the first quarter to put the Lions on the board first.

After that, however, Tampa Bay scored the next 14 points. Mike Williams caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Josh Freeman early in the second quarter to tie the ballgame. And with three minutes remaining in the half, LaGarrette Blount ran through the Detroit defense for a 39-yard score.

Dave Rayner kicked a 41-yard field goal with under a minute to go in the first half to cut the Buccaneers’ lead to 14-10.

For the Lions, Stanton has completed 10-of-16 passes for 140 yards and a touchdown. He also has Detroit’s longest run of the day, with a 15-yard gain. 102 of Stanton’s passing yards were gained by Calvin Johnson, who has six receptions thus far.

Freeman has passed for 141 yards on 11-of-18 passing with one touchdown. Blount has rushed for 62 yards on eight carries.
