Pro Bowl Rosters: Ndamukong Suh, Calvin Johnson Make NFC Team For Lions

The 2011 Pro Bowl rosters have been announced, and two Detroit Lions are on the NFC team: defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and wide receiver Calvin Johnson. Suh and Johnson are the only Lions that made the game, but both will be starters for the NFC.

Suh is the first Lions rookie to start in the Pro Bowl since Barry Sanders. This will be Suh's first Pro Bowl, which is also the case for Johnson. He was named an alternate for the Pro Bowl in 2008, but he didn't actually make the game. This year, however, Johnson is approaching career-high numbers in many categories and will be headed to Honolulu with Suh.

Although the Lions have only two players in the game, they do have three alternates: safety Louis Delmas, returner Stefan Logan and special teams player John Wendling. If players at their positions are unable to participate in the Pro Bowl because of injuries or because their team makes the Super Bowl, these three Lions will step in to replace them.
