Jahvid Best Injury: Lions Running Back Suffers Another Concussion

As if Sunday wasn't bad enough for Detroit Lions fans, word is just now coming out that running back Jahvid Best suffered a concussion during the game against the San Francisco 49ers. The injury happened in the fourth quarter, according to Chris McCosky, and the Lions apparently confirmed after the game that Best suffered a concussion.

For Best, this is his second concussion in the last two months. His first concussion this year happened during a preseason game against the Cleveland Browns in August. Best didn't miss much time because of the injury, but considering he also dealt with concussion issues in college, it was not a good situation.

Right now there's no word on how bad Best's latest concussion is and how long it will keep him out. Concussions can be very tricky, so we probably won't get a good idea about his status for next Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons until later in the week.

The Lions are also waiting to find out the status of linebacker Justin Durant and tight end Tony Scheffler, who are also recovering from concussions. Durant has missed three games because of his concussion and Scheffler was out on Sunday after suffering one on Monday night against the Chicago Bears.
