Lions Defensive Coordinator Gunther Cunningham Isn't An Anthony Davis Fan

Though the Detroit Lions are set to take on the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, not everyone has fully moved on from last week's lost to the San Francisco 49ers. It's not necessarily that defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham is going to dwell on things to the point where it's going to distract him and detract from his job as a coach, but he does have a few choice words in regards to 49ers' right tackle, Anthony Davis, and his trash talk on Twitter:

"Like their (right) tackle, I don't even know his name, he's talking about blocking everybody," Cunningham said. "Well, I looked at the tape. I might make a highlight tape and put it on Twitter so everyone can see what he did. It just really -- the more I talk about this, the madder I get because, I just want to play them again."

Davis had taken to Twitter following the 49ers' victory, and most agree he was pretty out of line. Davis did perform well in the game, especially against Cliff Avril, but his tweets went above and beyond postgame excitement. The teams could meet again this season - both are on the track to the playoffs right now, with the 49ers firmly atop the NFC West and the Lions trailing the Packers in the NFC North division, but certainly in the thick of things at 5-1. Perhaps Cunnigham will get his chance at revenge, but for now, he should probably focus on the Falcons.
