In week eight of fantasy football most leagues have passed the halfway point and teams are starting to line up for their respective playoffs. those lucky enough to have Calvin Johnson know he is a no-brainer to start, but is Lions running back Maurice Morris worth a start?
Morris is likely to start for the Lions with Jahvid Best still battling concussion symptoms. He has not been a consistent play, however, int he first two weeks of the season. He only has 18 carries for 70 yards, but he did see his production increase last week with Best out. He had nine carries for 50 yards, and he also caught a pair of passes out of the backfield.
Morris could be a solid play this week against a Denver Broncos defense that ranks 18th against the run. The Broncos give up 118.5 yards per game on the ground, but have only given up four rushing touchdowns. Considering that Detroit has struggled in the running game even with Best, it is a risky call to start Morris.
