Injuries to a couple of key weapons for the Detroit Lions offense have put the fantasy plans for quarterback and running back in limbo this week.

Matthew Stafford has been nursing a tender ankle all week with limited practice time, but reports from Friday's practice indicate the quarterback's status is improving heading into Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos.

Coach Jim Schwartz would not commit to starting Stafford on Sunday or changing his questionable status for the game, but all signs seem to point toward Stafford giving it a go. Considering coaches are loathe to give up any information on their team, Schwartz playing it safe wth Stafford's status makes sense. As usual, continue to monitor reports leading up to kickoff on Sunday, but barring an off-field stumble, count on Stafford taking snaps for the Lions.

So who will Stafford be handing the ball to in the backfield for the Lions? This one is far more clear cut since Jahvid Best has not been cleared from his concussion, leaving Maurice Morris to start at running back. While Morris shouldn't be considered anyone's number one option at RB, he could be a good option in a pinch going against the Broncos.
