Jahvid Best Status: No Timetable For Return From Injury

Jahvid Best missed another game this past weekend due to ongoing injury concerns stemming from a second concussion. The Detroit Lions have a bye week upcoming, but his status isn't set in stone afterward as it's difficult to put a timetable on head injuries.

"We'll see," head coach Jim Schwartz said when asked about his running back's status going forward. "Again, it's one of those things that you can't really have a timetable on."

There were whispers a couple of weeks ago that Best might be best off sitting out the rest of the season. That apparently hasn't been ruled out as Schwartz says he's being conservative, but it sounds like everyone is optimistic.

"I say it all the time, but I'll say it again," he said, "it's not something that you can put tape around; it's not something that you can tough out. It's a situation that we have to be conservative (with) and I think that's good for our players, that's good for Jahvid, it's good for the NFL."

Hopefully Best can return following the bye week, but teams can never be too careful when it comes to head injuries.
