Pro Bowl Voting Update: Calvin Johnson, Ndamukong Suh Lead Their Positions

The 2012 Pro Bowl is still pretty far off in the distance as there are six weeks left in the NFL's regular season. The league released its first voting update for football's annual All-Star game on Wednesday, however, with Detroit Lions players Calvin Johnson and Ndamukong Suh leading their positions.

Johnson has received 487,547 votes, making him the top vote-receiving wide receiver and placing him third amongst all players who have received votes. Quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady lead the way while the next closest wide receiver from the NFC is Greg Jennings of the Green Bay Packers with 399,521 votes at this point in the balloting process.

Suh did not finish in the top ten as far as votes are concerned, but considering he's a defensive lineman, that shouldn't necessarily be a surprise. The second-year pro has earned 269,506 votes and would join fellow NFC North defensive lineman Jared Allen on the defensive line if voting ended today.

Suh and Johnson were the lone Lions' to make last year's Pro Bowl.

According to a press release, balloting will conclude on Monday, December 19 following the conclusion of Monday Night Football. The final Pro Bowl teams will be announced at 7 p.m. on December 27 during a special NFL Total Access 2012 Pro Bowl Selection Show on the NFL Network.
