Nickelback To Play Thanksgiving Halftime Show For Lions Vs. Packers

If the Detroit Lions were in the midst of a losing season, I'd begin this article with "And you thought it couldn't get any worse ..." Fortunately, the fact that the news you're about to read is just a lone piece of bad news amid a very good breakout season for the Lions, but I'd say the soothing balm of delicious wins may not even be enough to overcome this kind of news, via the Oakland Press:

Multiplatinum Vancouver-based rockers Nickelback are slated to perform at the half of the Lions' annual holiday game, this year against interdivision rival the Green Bay Packers. It's not know what Nickelback will perform, but the group will be promoting a new album, "Here and Now," which comes out Nov. 21.

That's right - Nickelback will be performing for you good folks during the Thanksgiving Day halftime show, as some sort of sick reminder from the Lions front office that you need to remember losing ways so as not to get overconfident. Or something like that. In response to the "It's not known what Nickelback will perform," bit, I'm going to hazard a guess that it will be something not entirely unlike music, but not at all comparable to something altogether listenable. Good luck.
