Nick Fairley has found himself on the training table more than the football field this season for the Detroit Lions. That could change after the bye week, however, as the Detroit Lions rookie defensive tackle participated in Wednesday's practice.
Fairley hasn't played since tweaking a foot injury during the Lions game against the Lions so it's encouraging he participated in the Lions only practice scheduled this week. They'll take the rest of the weekend off to rest during the bye week according to Philip Zaroo.
Other players that didn't practice according to the report are quarterback Matt Stafford, Jahvid Best, Gosder Cherilus, Eric Wright, Amari Spievey, John Wendling and wide receiver Rashied Davis. It sounds as though Stafford was due only to precautionary reasons, however.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford was sidelined, however, after injuring his ankle against the Falcons. Stafford started the Broncos game, and said following the game that his ankle was fine, so the Lions are likely playing it safe by keeping him out of their only practice before the team's bye week.
The Lions will head to Soldier Field to play the Chicago Bears on Nov. 13 following the bye week.
