After missing his second straight game and having a week off with a bye, it looks like Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best may still be a ways away from being ready to play again. Earlier reports on Monday and Tuesday were that Best was unlikely to be available for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears, and we have some evidence that lends itself to that theory.
According to Dave Birkett, Best did not practice on Tuesday:
Running back Jahvid Best did not practice today as the Detroit Lions returned from their bye week and isn't expected to play in Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears.
That echoes the earlier reports that Best likely wouldn't be able to play on Sunday. It's best to play it safe in this case (no pun intended), as it's the second concussion that the running back has had this year. He suffered the concussion against the 49ers three weeks ago. Further adding evidence to the reports that Best will miss more time is the fact that Detroit has signed running back Kevin Smith.
