With the Detroit Lions delivering a dramatic fourth quarter comeback courtesy of a 98-yard touchdown drive on the road at Oakland they were bound to move up in the eyes of SB Nation's Joel Thorman. The NFL writer was very impressed with the Lions as they moved to the brink of their first playoff berth in 12 years. He moved Detroit back into the top 10 of this week's NFL Power Rankings:
9. Detroit Lions (9-5, LW: 11): Tough way to end the season -- San Diego and at Green Bay. They need to go 1-1, at least.
Detroit needs just a win in its last two games to clinch a playoff spot. San Diego is fighting for its playoff life as it tries to get back into the AFC West race, but Green Bay could be resting starters in Week 17 if they defeat the Bears on Christmas night. That win would clinch homefield advantage for the Packers, meaning they would have nothing to play for in the final week of the season.
