Pro Bowl Voting: Calvin Johnson Likely Headed To Hawaii

As one of only five players in the NFL that received over one million votes, Calvin Johnson can likely book his ticket to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl on Jan. 29. Johnson received 1,180,777 votes, good enough for fourth overall and the most among wide receivers. Fan voting makes up only a third of the selection process, but Johnson is likely going for the second time in his career with this announcement.

Green Bay Packers quarterback and leading MVP candidate Aaron Rodgers received the most votes with 1,581,982 ballots cast in his favor. He led Tom Brady and Drew Brees, who were the only other players that received more votes than Johnson.

The Lions had several players finish high in the voting:

Matthew Stafford finished 4th in fan voting among NFC QBs with 530k votes. Rodgers (1.6 mil), Brees (1.2 mil), Cam Newton (625k) top 3

Other Lions to finish top-5 by position in NFC: OT Jeff Backus (3rd), C Dominic Raiola (5th), CB Chris Houston (4th), K Jason Hanson (5th)

Stafford has a strong chance of heading to his first career Pro Bowl if Brees or Rodgers reaches the Super Bowl. Players playing in the following week's Super Bowl cannot participate in the Pro Bowl game.
