The Detroit Lions suffered a hard loss on Thanksgiving Day, to the NFC North rival Green Bay Packers, but they still boast a 7-4 record and are competing for a wild card berth in the NFC. They've got a tough conference opponent up next, however - the 8-2 New Orleans Saints. Detroit will enter the game without feature running back Jahvid Best, who was recently placed on injured reserve, but hope to have Kevin Smith following his ankle injury in the first quarter against Green Bay a week ago.
New Orleans is a very tough offensive power house, having just demolished the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. If the Lions hope to stay in this game, they'll need to play strong defense and disrupt Drew Brees, a task that looks even more tough with the absence of Ndamukong Suh, who was suspended for stomping a Packers player on Thursday.
