Last preseason, there were quite a few complaints about WWJ's coverage of Detroit Lions games. I chronicled the issues with their coverage in two lengthy posts on Pride of Detroit, and I called for the Lions to dump WWJ for a new TV station.
↵As announced on WXYZ tonight, the Lions have done just that. The team has partnered with WXYZ for the preseason and much more in 2011.

With the current CBA set to expire, there's no guarantee there will be a preseason next summer. It's likely that in the new CBA the preseason will be shrunk from four to two games, but the NFL and NFLPA have to agree on said new CBA for there to be any football next season.
↵One thing that is for sure about the next preseason is that if an agreement is reached, you will be able to find Lions preseason games on WXYZ next August.
