Round Two NFL Mock Draft: Detroit Lions To Select Cornerback?

SB Nation has released a round two NFL mock draft for the proceedings that are set to take place Friday night. Round one of the 2011 NFL Draft is in the books, so now the focus moves to the second round, which is set to begin Friday at 6 p.m.

After picking Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley with the 13th overall pick, SB Nation sees the Detroit Lions going defense again with the 44th overall selection. Specifically, the SB Nation mock has the Lions taking Miami (FL) cornerback Brandon Harris. The write-up for this pick is simple and straightforward: "Brandon Harris has a shot to be the first player off the board tonight. If he lands in Detroit, the Lions are playoff contenders."

If the Lions could land Harris to improve their secondary after already beefing up their D-line with Fairley, they would be well on their way to having an outstanding draft.

SB Nation has full coverage of the 2011 NFL Draft at its NFL Draft hub and NFL Draft blog, Mocking The Draft. For more on the Detroit Lions, make sure to check out Pride Of Detroit and SB Nation Detroit's NFL Draft StoryStream.
