Detroit Lions Add 4 More Undrafted Free Agents

The Detroit Lions have agreed to sign a total of 10 undrafted free agents that we know about as of 1 p.m. on Tuesday. On Monday night there was news about six UDFAs that were planning to sign with the Lions, and since then we have learned about four more:

WR Keith Smith (Purdue) - After tearing his ACL and MCL in the second game of last season, Smith hoped to get a sixth year of eligibility in order to come back for one more season with the Boilermakers. The NCAA denied his request, however, and now he is set to join the Lions and be teammates with fellow former Boilermaker Cliff Avril.

WR Jared Jenkins (Wisconsin-Stevens Point) - Jenkins was Mr. Versatile at UW-Stevens Point, a Division III school. He not only had a tremendous career at wide receiver, but he also was an outstanding punter and a three-year starter on the basketball team.

OG Jeff Maddux (Central Michigan) - One of the Lions' local signings, Maddux is set to join the Lions after spending some time most recently in the Arena Football League.

LB Cobrani Mixon (Kent State) - Mixon actually started his college football career at the University of Michigan. He transferred to Kent State after a season and had three excellent seasons with the Golden Flashes. Now he is ready to become a Lion.
