There are quite a few new names on the Detroit Lions roster after a busy first week of NFL free agency. The majority of the new names are undrafted free agents that likely won't even make the team, but the Lions did add some notable players, including Stephen Tulloch, Eric Wright, Justin Durant and Rashied Davis.
↵None of those four players will be allowed to practice until Thursday due to the rules of the new collective bargaining agreement, but they have already selected the numbers they will wear. From Dave Birkett:
↵↵↵Here's numbers for new Lions (for now): Stephen Tulloch-55; Justin Durant-57; Eric Wright-21 (same as Aaron Brown for now); Rashied Davis-82
↵
Although Durant is No. 57 right now, he is in the process of negotiating to change numbers. He wore No. 56 in Jacksonville, but since that is retired in Detroit it looks like he is hoping to switch to No. 52, which he wore in college. That number currently belongs to rookie linebacker Doug Hogue, who can choose to either give it up for free or request some form of compensation from Durant.
