The Detroit Lions take on the Cincinnati Bengals in preseason action on Friday night. It is the first game of the preseason for both teams, and for many players it will be their first career NFL game or their first game with the Lions.
Unfortunately, many players will be forced to sit out Friday's game because of injuries. Already nine players have been ruled out for Friday's game by Lions head coach Jim Schwartz. They are listed below.
- RB Maurice Morris (hand)
- RB Mikel Leshoure (Achilles)
- WR Titus Young (hamstring)
- TE Brandon Pettigrew (ankle)
- OT Jason Fox (foot)
- OT Jeff Backus (pectoral)
- DT Andre Fluellen (hand)
- DT Nick Fairley (foot)
- CB Alphonso Smith (foot)
In addition to these nine players, CB Aaron Berry and S Randy Phillips are expected to be game-time decisions. Berry is dealing with a groin injury and Phillips has an issue with his shoulder.
OT Tony Ugoh also may miss Friday's game. He hasn't been at practice the last two days for an undisclosed reason.
