Lions head coach Jim Schwartz welcomed actor and comedian Sinbad to the Lions' practices on Wednesday. Sinbad is a Benton Harbor native, and he likes what he sees from the team:
↵↵↵"I'm going to tell you this," he said. "The energy from watching TV since I've been in town these last few days - I haven't seen this much optimism about the Lions in a long time. The energy's good.
↵
Schwartz took the opportunity to make a light-hearted jab at one of Sinbad's movie roles with this tweet:
↵↵↵Sinbad came out to practice today. Now we might be able to forgive him for Necessary Roughness.

"Necessary Roughness" is an early 90s comedy film about a fictional Texas university football team that is loosely based on the 1980s SMU football scandal. Let's just say the film wasn't that popular; it earned only $26 million at the box office and has a 25 percent rating at the film critic site Rotten Tomatoes.
