Lions At Vikings: Detroit Rallies For 26-23 Win In Overtime

After one half of football in Minnesota on Sunday, the Detroit Lions faced a 20-0 deficit. The Vikings were dominating them in all aspects of the game, and to some it looked like the same ol' Lions showed up.

With yet another loss to the Vikings in Minnesota becoming a distinct possibility, the Lions fought back with an amazing second half comeback. They scored 10 points in the third quarter with a Calvin Johnson touchdown and a Jason Hanson field goal. In the fourth quarter, another Johnson touchdown and another Hanson field goal tied the game up. Hanson added another field goal with 2:35 to go to put the Lions on top, 23-20.

After Ryan Longwell tied the game up with a 49-yard field goal, the Lions and Vikings headed to overtime. The Lions won the toss, and thanks to some amazing catches by Titus Young and Johnson, they quickly got into field goal range. Hanson was Mr. Automatic again, booting a 32-yard attempt through the uprights to give the Lions their first win in Minnesota since 1997.

With the victory, the Lions are off to their first 3-0 start since 1980. Next week they will head to Dallas to battle the Cowboys and look for a 4-0 start to the season.
