Nebraska Cornhuskers cornerback Alfonzo Dennard has been the consensus pick for the Lions for a little while in a lot of mock drafts, and you can add another one to the list with FOX Sport's new mock released today. Though FOX gave the Lions a cornerback in their last mock on January 3rd, it's been shifted to Dennard from old selection Stephon Gilmore out of South Carolina.
The last time the Lions went to Lincoln, Neb., for a first-round pick, it worked out fairly well. Look for Jim Schwartz and Martin Mayhew to poach another one of Bo Pelini’s defensive talents by scooping up Dennard.
They are, of course, referring to Ndmukong Suh, who has turned into a great if not slightly controversial player so far in his short time in Detroit. The logic is pretty sound at the very least, and it's starting to look just as likely that the Lions pick Dennard with their 23rd overall pick as it is likely that the Browns are going to snag Robert Griffin III. Starting to look like it in the context of mock drafts, of course.
